Job Purpose: Manages the development and implementation of the company’s marketing communications programs. Works with management and sales to plan and create strategies, tactics, activities and materials for the purpose of conveying “marketing messages” to target markets. Supports the development and execution of an integrated marketing plan which may include advertising/promotion, customer communications, public relations, special events, as well as electronic marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think at the strategic and conceptual level and act, simultaneously, as a highly-effective and productive individual contributor. The Marketing Communications Manager/Writer will create value by identifying the need for and developing content that drives awareness and familiarity with Applimation’s data management software products. Deliverables may be print or web-based, and may include press releases, sales brochures, case studies, white papers, newsletters, magazine-length articles, videos, webcasts and signage.
Essential Results and Activities:
Create, manage and deliver a broad range of marketing communications materials and other sales resources to: promote the sale of company products; advance Applimation’s market leadership; develop Applimation’s brand and; further the company's strategic objectives.
· Work closely with internal groups to understand and identify communications/content development needs and lead efforts to meet those needs.
· Develops and executes the design, writing and production of marketing communications materials, including corporate literature, product/service brochures, proposals, case studies, whitepapers, press releases, presentations, signage, etc.
· Consult with other areas of management, sales departments, colleagues and agencies to most positively impact lead generation, web marketing, trade show/event activity and public relations.
· Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Applimation’s products, services, strategies and operations.
· Works with business partners and internal departments to ensure proper Internet representation of company brand and it’s solution offerings.
· Identify opportunities for repurposing existing content for additional audiences or to add convenience for the consumption of the message by the target audience.
· Rapidly solve problems, recognize potential issues and make decisions throughout a project that balance the need to meet a deadline and still meet the original requirements of the project
· Maintain appropriate brand messaging and standards.
· Maintaining budget reports, invoices, marketing program reports and other reports as needed
· Maintaining key industry trade contact distribution lists and editorial calendars
· Maintains collateral inventory. Assists in collateral distribution as needed.
· Maintains and responds to partner and directory listing inquiries and postings.
· Manages planning and execution of special events and webinars by defining and developing event strategy, pre and post promotional process, presentation review, vendor management, overall logistics associated with events.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in English or Marketing.
Experience:
Smart, critical thinker, creative, energetic, self-motivated individual with a passion for marketing and building something from the ground up.
3 to 5 years of progressive experience in business to business marketing communications or agency environment with demonstrated experience working as a member of a creative team.
Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience generating web, product, sales materials and promotional copy.
Experience in developing content for technology products a plus (e.g., ERP, storage, software, or hardware).
Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and with a fast paced team.
Solid business acumen, strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
