The FSO includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams typically work with a variety of financial services industry clients and their lending organizations, including mortgage, consumer lending, commercial, auto, and credit cards. Our projects span functional operations from originations to servicing and secondary marketing. Our professionals focus on delivering operational strategy, business process improvement, cost management/profitability enhancement and business integration services through the full project life cycle from assessment through design and implementation. Team members will work alongside the Technology Enablement organization and other parts of Ernst & Young's advisory services to deliver complete and integrated solutions that address a breadth of client needs. Responsibilities: Define small to medium sized client projects by establishing the project scope, approach, work plan, timelines, staffing requirements and budgets. Manage day-to-day activities of the project by providing project leadership to a combination of E&Y and client personnel, including managing daily project activities, scope management, change management, issue escalation and resolution, production of project deliverables, and presentations to client personnel and leadership. Work with the clients to design new processes and organization changes as required by the project. Coordinate collection and prioritization of business requirements, design and test of system initiatives. Coordinate deployment of operational and technical initiatives, including deployment strategy, user training, and implementation. Manage quality of the deliverables, timelines, budgets, and milestones Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the project while establishing expectations of value to be delivered. Actively develop staff and senior consultants on the projects by supporting individuals in developing project management, industry content, and communications/presentation skills. . Generate new business opportunities. Understand E&Y and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally. Research emerging industry trends and best practices and participate in practice development initiatives, such as creating points of view and proprietary engagement delivery methodologies Build deeper understanding of the Lending Industry and begin build expertise in selected content areas Requirements: Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or in a business related field. CFA, CPA and / or MBA designations a plus A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading small to medium sized operations and technology change initiatives with quot;brand namequot; consulting firms or internal consulting organizations at leading corporations. A minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in Financial Services, specifically in the lending space (mortgage, consumer, auto, credit cards) Process and domain expertise including mortgage loan originations, fulfillment, servicing and securitization; experience with other consumer finance products (eg, auto) beyond mortgage a plus Prior experience in designing operations processes, identifying target metrics, developing business requirements for systems solutions Understanding of key technology and services vendors and products supporting the mortgage value chain Excellent written and verbal communication skills for developing client deliverables and presentations Strong analytical skills; specifically, the ability to assess and diagnose financial services industry processes; six-sigma certification or exposure to other process improvement methodologies a plus. Ability to develop project approach, work plans, resource estimates, and cost estimates Effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills Strong presentation and communication skills Flexibility to travel and work full-time on out-of-town assignments, as necessary
