Manager, Chemistry Laboratory
Intertek Automotive Research is looking for an energetic, innovative and experienced leader for its Chemistry Laboratory operation. Scope of work includes: Manages staff of 30+ technicians/chemists, in support of an operaton of 150+ personnel and their customers. Provides technical support of the petro-chemical industry through mechanical, chemical and physical testing. Provides technical leadership to the Chemistry Laboratory. Actively supports and routinely attends meetings within ASTM and other technical societies. Conducts data review for validation of test reports. Oversees and supports the quality systems and database systems (LIMS) in the laboratory. Develops plans for manpower, productivity, equipment additions, equipment replacements, and customer service. Interacts with customers to answer questions and resolve issues. Desire 5-10 years experience as a Chemist or as a Supervisor/Manager in an analytical petroleum laboratory. Must be proficient in the operation, troubleshooting and data analysis relative to the test methods used in the lab (i.e. GC, ICP, TGA, XRF, etc.) Prior knowledge and experience with computer systems/software based on Windows operating systems and relational database structure, query is a must.
