Logistics Analyst

Pitney Bowes is seeking a Senior Transportation Analyst. This position is responsible for helping to increase the effectiveness of the transportation network by lowering costs, increasing efficiency and maintaining customer satisfaction. This position involves analyzing rates, modes and volumes to make recommendations for changes to the current network. This position is located in our Newtown, CT facility. Key Accountabilities Develop and optimize global distribution models. Analyze and interpret complex transportation data to determine impact of network changes or new pricing agreements. Work in cross-functional teams that identify actions to leverage transportation and logistics infrastructure. Provide detailed analysis to justify carrier consolidations, network changes, and contract negotiations. Work with new acquisitions to leverage existing transportation contracts. Proactively identify cost savings opportunities by performing root cause analysis. Lead enterprise initiatives to make recommended changes. Report on key transportation metrics, including spend, tonnage, on-time delivery, customer delivery satisfaction and mode trends. Provide analytical support and guidance to the Service organization on their third-party logistics provider network. Assist with global contract negotiations by providing detailed analysis of rate proposals. Make recommendations for rate negotiations with external benchmarking. Assist with network transformation projects with analytical and operational support. Optimize the Standard Operating Procedures of our third party freight payment center. Execute detailed analysis to measure provider's service quality. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance to Internal Audit and Sarbanes Oxley guidelines. In depth knowledge of transportation industry, regulations, trends and carriers. Knowledge of transportation operational processes and terminology. Distribution experience strongly preferred. Strong analysis and reporting skills. Ability to understand complex problems, analyze data sets and formulate an actionable answer or proposal. Ability to lead teams and drive process improvement in a cross functional environment. Strong business acumen and ability to drive results with minimal guidance. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong analytical skills using advanced features of Microsoft Excel and Access. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of MapInfo or Microsoft MapPoint strongly preferred. Knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Warehouse preferred. BS/BA in Business, Finance, Logistics or Transportation. MBA preferred.
