Lead DBA (Oracle, 10g) Delray Beach, FL

   Job description: The Lead DBA, Oracle 10g serves as an expert consultant to applications developers to provide expertise on database capabilities and constraints Performs data modeling; develops physical designs that demonstrate trade-offs between logical design and system performance. Creates logical and physical database designs. Establishes security and replication procedures. Demonstrates expert understanding of database performance tuning, data backup, recovery and security processes/ procedures. Qualifications:Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent training and experience. Graduate degree preferred .  Approximately 8-12 years experience in related field.   Other Information: Minimum of 7 years professional Information Technology experience. At least two or more of these years working with large environments (multi-terabyte or mission critical) in a high demand-based, service oriented environment. Minimum of 3 years experience as a database administrator with proficiency in the management and optimization/tuning of relational databases. 5+ years Oracle DBA experience in a production environment required. 2+ years RAC experience in 10g preferred. Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrades, application and releasing of maintenance and patches, for Oracle 9i and 10g Databases in a large, Solaris and Linux environment 3rd level Unix/Oracle support. 2+ years experience with Unix support tasks, scheduling and scripting skills (ksh, csh, Perl, Korn Shell, CRON, etc.) required.
