 Description

The primary role of this position is to understand the organization’s overall business strategy and to assist with the implementation of a comprehensive IT Strategic Plan that aligns with the business strategy (linkage, support of goals and objectives, etc.). This position will continually assess all areas in IT to make sure their efforts and initiatives support the IT strategic plan, highlight gaps and identify alternatives to close gaps.  This position should also be skilled in project management and Business Process Reengineering.

 Responsibilities

· Supports implementation of IT Strategic Plan through interaction with various IT and Business Governance committees

· Supports execution and evaluation of IT Strategic Plan through interaction with various IT and Business Governance committees

· Works with Senior IT Managers to ensure alignment of their area’s objectives and execution with the IT Strategic Plan, business strategy, business goals and government objectives 

· Creates and maintains a detailed project plan (schedule, WBS, etc.) for the development and execution of the IT Strategic Plan

· Attends all client meetings

· Responsible for status reports, policy writing strategic plan updates and project plan

 

Skills / Qualifications:

· Ability to formulate effective strategies consistent with business and competitive strategy of the organization

· Ability to examine policy issues and strategic planning with a long-term perspective. 

· Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of IT Strategy assessment, planning, management, monitoring and evaluation

· Knowledge of the organization’s mission and functions, and how it’s social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them; this includes working with the established governance structure

· Proficient using MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat

· Excellent oral and written skills

· Highly Preferred: Military Experience, prior consulting experience, prior strategic planning experience, Project Management Certification
