INVENTORY - SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

Fabcon Inc., a leading manufacturer of pre-stressed concrete wall panels, has immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manager located in Savage, MN

 

The Supply Chain manager will ensure that all Fabcon divisions manage the incoming, in-process, and final materials and products in a way to reduce the total cost and improve the integrity of the materials and products through efficient planning, purchasing, usage, and storage of materials and products. Develop and enhance procurement and negotiation strategies.  Manage inventory control systems that lower the overall cost of materials within the company.  Manage the employees within the function to achieve their full capabilities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Review and improve procurement and negotiating strategiesDevelop collaborative relationship with key suppliers to lower overall cost of doing businessDetermine supplier selection/de-selection criteriaDevelop inventory control systems for raw materials, MRO and finished goods Establish and maintain effectiveness measures for material function (inventory turns, fill rate, supplier effectiveness, etc.)Create reporting mechanisms to allow for better planning of purchases (Kanbans, supplier managed inventory, forecasting, etc.)Manage and coordinate supply chain activities across all Fabcon locations compliant with ISO 9001 standardsFacilitate and participate in Lean activities centered around the flow of materials.Work with a steel vendor to provide materials as needed by cast and reduce on-hand inventories.Analyze flow of a material at Fabcon to limit non-value added time spent moving and storing materialsNegotiate with a vendor seeking an increase without having a viable alternative. 

Skills and qualifications for this position should include:Knowledge of MRP systems and principlesLean Manufacturing and Materials management experienceGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsComputer literateAbility to develop new processes and systems within an organization.Prior experience establishing and managing MRP and/or ERP systems8 years experience in Purchasing and Inventory Control ManagementBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related fieldsAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeAbility to move around in a Fabcon plant and yardAbility to lift up to 25 lbManagement of purchasing (direct) and inventory control (indirect) function at all plants
