RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic and product portfolio manager accountable for developing strategy, achieving profit, retention and growth goals for designated insurance products in designated market.

 

This role will manage and influence auto and home portfolio plans that include environmental factors, sales, pricing, coverage and underwriting guidelines. Provides leadership and product expertise throughout the Enterprise across a wide range of functions (marketing, customer research, legal, sales and market management, IT, claims, underwriting, actuarial).

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Leverages market specific competitive analysis and customer research to build tools that allow AAA to sell effectively and deliver relevant products that meet member and policyholder needs.

• Trains, coaches, and mentors sales, underwriting and analyst staff to deepen their expertise and increase product and competitive knowledge.

• Monitors product growth, retention, loss ratio and mix of business within designated markets.

• Develop/enhance report process for appropriate measurement of product results.

• Revises and refines the portfolio plan in response to trends and variances.

• Develops action plans to correct adverse results and to take advantage of unforeseen opportunities.

• Identifies product features and rate plan modifications, based on member and market feedback, that drive profitable growth and member satisfaction.

• Works closely with the actuarial and product design on issues associated with rate indications, rate filings, class plan revisions and other product enhancements.

• Collaborates with other product divisions to develop product linkages and to maximize product penetration within AAA member household.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Prefer 2 or more years with Product Management experience.

• Prefer 7 or more years overall Insurance Experience.

• Strong analytical skills a must.

• Skilled problem solver.

• Creative.

• Must excel in a collaborative, matrix-oriented work environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of the insurance industry and competitors.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Strong Excel and Power Point Skills a must.

• Access, SAS, etc preferred
