Specific duties may include: Design, implementation, and administration of FirstEnergy pension plans and formulas; Calculation of qualified pension benefits for FirstEnergy employees, vestors, and surviving spouses; Determination of non-qualified pension benefits and calculation of the 409A portion; Preparation of governmental reports including the annual Form 1 for the Pension Benefits Guarantee Board and Form 5500 and its associate schedules; SOX required testing of transactions within both the Pension and Savings Plans; Savings plan administration; Preparation and delivery of presentations to employee groups or union negotiating committees related to the provisions of the pension and savings plans; Participation in the development, design, preparation, and distribution of materials for employee communications, including annual Total Rewards Statements; Compilation of various ad-hoc reports and statistics for FirstEnergy's pension programs and initiatives; Project management and analytical support in key special projects; Interfacing with internal and external vendors and customers; and Remaining knowledgeable of executive benefit and capital accumulation trends while recommending process improvements.Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline is required; Three to five years of experience in pension plan administration is required; Must demonstrate working knowledge of governmental requirements associated with the administration of pension plans; Strong analytical and quantitative skills are necessary to collect and analyze data, identify issues, and solve problems; A high degree of proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required; The ability to extract and manipulate data from various computer systems, including SAP, is preferred; and Must possess excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments while maintaining timeliness, accuracy, and attention to detail.At the HR Representative Level: The employee will perform the primary responsibilities with assistance from other team members and with direct supervision.At the Advanced HR Representative Level: The employee will independently perform the primary responsibilities and more complex assignments, develop and recommend solutions, and have demonstrated ability to be an accomplished contributor.
