HR Generalist OverviewPerforms a variety of professional and analytical functions associated with human resources services, consistently adhering to established procedures.Corresponds with employment candidates and employees regarding benefits, compensation, and company policies. Assesses situations and exercises sound judgment in making decisions and in performance of responsibilities.Maintains strict confidentiality and security in all aspects of employee records and daily activities. Is self-motivated, able to prioritize effectively, capable of functioning independently and creatively, under general supervision. Possesses at least intermediate level technical skills.  Responsibilities• Creation, preparation, and distribution of all human resources related reports as required by local, corporate and USA management. Reports are generated through Crystal Reports, driven by an Oracle database application of PeopleSoft. These reports include, but are not limited to, Salary Administration, Headcount, Employment Activity, EE0C, Occupational Labor Statistics, and Service Award Administration. Additionally, some extractions of data require the use of Microsoft Access to provide meaningful reports.• Preparation of new hire paperwork and conducting benefits orientations in the Tyler and Dallas locations. Ongoing development and improvement of new employee orientation procedures • Overseeing the updating of Human Resources Forms and New Hire packets and materials • Tracking service awards to insure accuracy • Involvement in all phases of HR charitable events, including, but not limited to United Way Drives, Heart Walks, Adopt-A-Family, Blood Drives • Involvement in all phases of HR social events, including, but not limited to service awards celebrations, employee assemblies, holiday parties, company picnics • The continual updating of HR procedures and procedure manuals • With general supervision, correctly interpret, explain and apply company policies, government requirements, and labor law as needed • Coding of HR-related invoices and obtaining appropriate approvals • Updating HR group address books in Lotus Notes • Attending HR related seminars, conventions, meetings, as required • Providing courteous and informed assistance to all employees, including, but not limited to answering questions regarding all Employee Benefits and contact information for benefits vendors, assisting with the completion of all HR related forms, such as relocation forms and expense reports Qualifications• Preferably a bachelor's degree (or 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree) • Must have a general knowledge of all HR procedures and job duties of all other HR positions in order to assist in these areas when needed • Must be willing to assist the HR Manager in all areas as required • Must be willing to travel as required. A day-trip visit to the Dallas office is required each week in which there are new employees. An occasional overnight visit to The Woodlands office or to other locations to attend training or a seminar may be required  â€¢ Must be professional at all times in dealing with the employees, new hires, vendors, etc • Must have a general knowledge of Federal and State Employment/Labor Laws and Regulations • Must be able to continually assess the overview of all HR issues, procedures, and systems to insure accuracy, need for updates, etc.• Must be able to plan, organize and prioritize assignments, and minimal errors in a fast paced environment • Must be proficient (preferably intermediate level or higher) in the MicroSoft Office Suite of applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Remedy Intelligent Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer
