HR Business Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position assists various People & Performance departments with Human Capital research, analysis, recommendations and creation of metrics presentations to the leadership team. This position also maintains and analyzes various HR business systems. The incumbent will be expected to write queries as necessary, maintain databases for metrics, define programming specifications for various reports and will coordinate with other analysts and department heads. Will work with other lines of business and P&P leaders to coordinate knowledge transfer of seasonal and project based activities (e.g. Open Enrollment, Upgrades, and Implementation of new programs). The incumbent must be a systems thinker with the ability to link data to enterprise strategies and initiatives, in addition to presenting “the story”.

Analysis, Reporting and Scorecard

Pull and analyze data from multiple systems across People & Performance, develop and generate reports for management review. Identify and monitor P&P needs related to automated procedures and operations. Assist with generation of metrics, reporting, variance and trend analysis. Demonstrate good judgment in choosing methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Content Steward for various systems (e.g. OMW Knowledge Base, Avaya)

Maintain data content, and tables required to ensure information is correct. Analyze support systems and tools for potential enhancements (e.g. HR helpdesk functionality).

Self Service Support

Partner with SME(s) on creating queries that can be accessed from desktops, and ensure appropriate employees are trained. Will also train others as needed. Will be directly involved in systems and/or reporting of related data.

Additional assignments and responsibilities

Will be responsible for creating reports and presenting to various levels of management. May sit on process improvement teams representing People & Performance; to partner with other lines of business on enterprise reporting and analysis needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5 years Analyst experience with a focus on workforce metrics. Broad knowledge of HR is highly desirable. Previous experience using PeopleSoft is recommended. 5 years analyzing large amounts of data, in addition to tracking, trending and making recommendations. Experience on project teams Independent problem solving skills. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience and/or training.

Computer: Must be advanced in Microsoft Office applications, to include MS Project. Peoplesoft application experience recommended, with the ability to define, write and run queries. Experience running AVAYA (CMS) system reports preferred. Technical knowledge of human resources systems and applications

Communication Skills: Builds strong client relationships while providing quality service. Skilled negotiator. Strong customer service skills with the ability to influence and gain mutual understanding. Ability to express self in person, writing and over the telephone. Ability to present complex ideas such that “the story” being told is understood.

Organization Skills: Is conscientious in executing day-to-day duties. Ability to multitask effectively. Detail Oriented. Ability to prioritize impromptu work assignments. Strong problem solving abilities. Time management to ensure deadlines are met.
