Grant Writer/Grant Compliance

Located in Erie, PA, Housing and Neighborhood Development Service (HANDS) is a community-based non-profit agency dedicated to providing affordable and appropriate housing for persons who are in need of safe and affordable housing.

 Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Finance and Administration, this position will perform the general duties of a grant writer/grant compliance specialist to support the organization’s housing communities.

 

Qualifications:Associate degree in business, finance, or accounting or 5 years of work experience in grant writing, grand administration or contract compliance.  Bachelor of Arts or Science in a related field is desirable.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detailsMust be customer service orientedFamiliar with or have the ability to become familiar with affordable housing programs and various funding resources that benefit low-income individuals (i.e. HUD, FHLB, PHFA, DCED, HOME, CDBG, and other related funding sources)

 Essential Functions:

·  Assist President and Vice President of Finance and Administration with contract/grand administration, financial/regulatory monitoring, contract development, and program development.

·  Research and track application and funding opportunities to support HANDS housing developments and that further the Agency’s goals and objectives for providing affordable housing for those in need.

·  Complete all grand/proposal applications as assigned, including the preparation of grant/contract applications, procedural manuals, monthly, quarterly, and final program progress review reports.

·  Perform all required follow-up activities on grant/contract application submissions as assigned.

·  Establish and maintain grants management database.

·  Coordinate, develop, and ensure consistency of grant management across the organization.
