About the Opportunity As a leader in the Freight Transportation / Logistics Industry we are looking for successful people to join our Team as a Logistics Specialist / Freight Broker. A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION SOLUTIONS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS DIVERSE NEEDS IN A 3RD PARTY / BROKERAGE ENVIRONMENT. 2. CANDIDATE WILL WORK DIRECT WITH CARRIERS AND FREIGHT TRANSPORTAION PROVIDERS TO SECURE RATES AND NEGOTIATE PRICING, BOOK SHIPMENTS AND DISPATCH DRIVERS, TRACE SHIPMENTS INTRANSIT AND PROVIDE FOLLOWUP AS REQUIRED. 3. CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR POSTING AND MANAGING LOADS ON MUTLIPLE INTERNET LOAD BOARDS TO INSURE THE DATA IS TIMELY AND RELEVANT. THIS WILL HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON OUR ABILITY TO COVER LOADS AND PROVIDE CAPACITY TO OUR CUSTOMERS AS NEEDED. 3. CANDIDATE WILL BE INTERACTING VIA TELEPHONE, EMAIL AND FAX WITH CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS. THE CANDIDATE WILL BE REPSONSIBLE FOR QUOTING RATES, TAKING ACCURATE PICKUP AND DELIVERY INFO AND PROVIDING CUSTOMER SERVICE TO INSURE THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF SERVICE IS MAINTAINED. 4. CANDIDATE WILL PROSPECT FOR NEW CUSTOMERS USING A COMBINATION OF TELEMARKETING, FAX, AND EMIAL TOOLS TO SECURE NEW AND PROFITABLE BUSINESS. 5. CANDIDATE MUST BE COMFORTABLE AND EFFICIENT USING A VARIETY OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS INCLUDING, MICROSOFT EXCEL AND WORD.

Qualifications

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES AND APPLY THEM TO THE RESPONSIBILITIES OUTLINED ABOVE: CUSTOMER FOCUSED ATTITUDE: CANDIDATE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT OUR GOAL IS TO HELP OUR CUSTOMERS BE MORE SUCCESSFUL THROUGH THE FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION SOLUTIONS THAT WE PROVIDE. PROBLEM SOLVER: THE CUSTOMER PAYS US TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO THEIR TRANSPORTATION NEEDS. MUST PERFROM WITH A SENSE OF URGENCY AND BE PROACTIVE AND CREATIVE IN CREATING SOLUTIONS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS. CANDIDATE MUST EXCEL IN A "FAST-PACED" AND TIME SENSENSITIVE ENVIRONMENT. MUST BE ABLE TO MULTI-TASK COMFORTABLY. THE LOGISTICS SPECIALIST WILL HAVE TO BE COMFORTABLE HANDLING A VARIETY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND BE ABLE TO "CHANGE GEARS" QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY AND PRIORITIZE AS NEW TASKS MATERIALIZE WITH MINIMAL STRESS. CANDIDATE MUST BE DETAILED ORIENTATED AND WORK WITH DATA AND INFORMATION ACCURATELY IN A VERY FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT. STRONG TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS ARE NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND PRODUCTIVE IN THIS POSITION.

Effectively maintains driver and customer appointment schedules. Plans and schedules a wide variety of transporation solutions.

Handles complex problems effectively. Separates key issues and generates multiple solutions.

Manages complexities and competing priorities. Coordinates information and activities among groups with differing agendas, across multi-functional areas.

Articulates ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings, adjusting the message to match the audience.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
