Financial Analyst/System Administrator

The Global Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of the consolidated reporting systems in Khalix and its continuous improvement.  The analyst will be the Khalix System administrator and perform all necessary administrator duties. He/she will also aid in gathering information and the monthly closing procedures for the consolidated financial results for The Tensar Corporation and Subsidiaries. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Company has an international presence with subsidiaries in multiple countries.  Khalix functions very similarly to Hyperion and thus exposure to Hyperion is also very relevant in this environment.  This is an exciting opportunity to improve the operation of a major financial reporting system for a global business.  The analyst will work closely with the accounting and IT departments to enhance the existing system infrastructure and its reporting capabilities. 

 

· The Analyst will be the Khalix system administrator and will perform all necessary administrator duties that will include but not be limited to system upgrades and enhancements, monthly maintenance, user maintenance, and training of new users.  The analyst will serve as the liaison between IT and accounting and will work closely with both departments to ensure compliance with SOX procedures and work toward continuous improvement of the financial reporting system.

 

· The Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of the consolidated reporting systems in Khalix and its continuous improvement.  The position also requires the development of ad hoc reporting as required by management. 

 

· The Analyst is responsible for collecting the monthly financial reporting data from the subsidiaries, validating that information and uploading into Khalix (consolidation software).  This position will also prepare analytical information for review of the monthly results.  The analyst is responsible for ensuring that all intercompany transactions are eliminated.  Other tasks in the monthly closing process will be determined as necessary.

 

· The candidate must be a highly energetic and self-motivated professional with diverse technical skills in accounting and consolidations methodology and systems.  This position requires a strong accounting background.  Knowledge of foreign currency translation rules is a plus.  In addition, a strong working knowledge of MS Excel is also required.

 

· Responsible for the timely closing of the consolidated financial records.

 

· Maintenance and improvement of a sound system of corporate reporting and consolidation system controls.

 

· Maximizing use of resources, system capabilities and efficiency of reporting utilizing the Khalix system.

 

· This position will work with the internal and external auditors to provide information necessary to test internal controls and to perform quarterly/annual reviews on the Tensar consolidated financials.

 

· Improving metrics and reporting of financial measures throughout the company.

 

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

· Requirements include 3-5 years related financial system maintenance experience. Experience in consolidated financial statement preparation and reporting requirements is required.  Extensive knowledge of Hyperion or Khalix is a plus.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential.  Some html experience would be helpful but not required.  BS/BA degree in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems preferred, CPA a plus. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Work with the accounting team and IT Staff to improve & maintain the global financial reporting system

· Consolidate monthly and year end financial statements.

· Monthly comparison & analysis of financial results to plan & forecast.

· Other operating & strategic analysis work as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications/Certifications Required

· 3 to 4 years experience in maintenance of financial systems required.

· BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Accounting Information Systems.

· Advanced PC skills in spreadsheet applications required.

· Super-user of financial reporting tool such as Hyperion, SAP, Cognos, Khalix, etc.

 

Working Relationships

· Reports directly to the Global Financial Reporting Manager

· Works with the Director and Corporate Controller, Manager FP&A, International Controllers, IT

· Contact with internal and external auditors
