Escrow Officer

My client is a top Escrow company located in Salt Lake City.  We are looking for a top Escrow Officer to join our established team of professionals.  The base salary and commission structure are both negotiable according to experience, abilities and book of business.  We also carry top medical benefits and time-off as a part of this package.

 

Only Escrow Officers able to bring a current book of business with them will be considered.  You must that have experience, a license and "clients".  Many escrow officers have only clients that sub-prime lenders and we are not interested in this.

 

You must have considerable knowledge of the purpose and use of title insurance and of related services and of the purpose and terminology of legal instruments involved in escrow transactions and in the insuring of title to real property.

The successful candidate will close personal, builder, refinance, general residential resale and other real estate transactions, market settlement work to local real estate agents and prepare HUD-1 settlement statements.

This position covers traditional responsibilities of a seasoned Escrow Officer to include:Provide services to complete transactions such as those involving single family and other residential property sales and loans in connection with the insuring of titleOrder preparation of necessary legal papersPrepare written escrow agreements in accordance with the contract or instructions givenExecute closings and obtain payments due; disburse funds to appropriate partiesMaintain follow-up necessary for completion of transaction and issuance of policySchedule closings with parties involved in transactionExplain closing documents to parties involvedAnswer questions as to derivation of figures on the closing statementOrder beneficiary statements for demands, hazard insurance policies, deeds of trust, reconveyances, and other documentsAssist in preparation, execution, and recording of authorized documents Pro-rate taxes, hazard insurance, loan interest, and other itemsPrepare escrow settlement documents showing detailed breakdown of chargesReview commitment or binder to determine any exceptions which must be cleared prior to closing and determine documentation necessary to waive exceptionsOrder and review necessary surveys and correlate current surveys to property description, ascertaining its accuracy and completeness. Knowledge of legal documents, local escrow procedures and terminology, proration of taxes, fire insurance, and similar costs is required. Knowledge of legal descriptions and basic sales and service techniques as well as the principles of mortgage lending is required. Considerable ability to perform mathematical calculationsAbility to interview escrow principals, write escrow instructions, review preliminary title reports, ascertain needed information from title plant, plan and conduct escrow closing program, and meet and deal with escrow principals effectively.Analytical abilities sufficient to perform assignments guided by general escrow procedures, with limited instructions from supervisor is required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in person and by telephone is required. Ability to operate a personal computer and to use common office suite software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.

BS degree preferred with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in escrow work or an equivalent combination of education and experience is also required.
