Environmental Compliance/Sustainability Consultant (Irvine)

ERM is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our growing Compliance Assurance & Sustainability practice teams in Irvine, CA. This is an excellent career opportunity to work on a variety of environmental compliance and sustainability projects for large industrial and global clients throughout Southern California. Formal training is led by ERM's national Compliance Assurance experts to share best practices across the industry and provide ongoing learning opportunities for our team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technicalassistanceon EHS compliance, environmental management systems, sustainability, and due diligence projects. Assist with implementation of environmental/health & safety/sustainability management systems and programs for clients. Prepare training materials, develop training programs,  and/or actuallyconduct  training. Perform environmental compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop plans, permits, and procedures for air, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater. Support litigation projects under attorney-client privilege. Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables. Communicate with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.  REQUIREMENTS: BS in engineering, environmental science, business or related discipline; MS a plus. 2  to 5 years of environmental and/or business management  experience; consulting experience preferred. Familiarity with USEPA & California environmental regulations and strong understanding of environmental permit application processes. Experience developing, auditing, and/or maintaining corporate management industry standards preferred (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer). Knowledge of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or BSI 18001 Standards or LEED. Excellent written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports and standards. Strong MS Office computer skills required ; advanced understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, Access or Visio desired.  Basic understanding or experience in Sustainability, Low Impact Development ,  and/or Environmentally Preferable Purchasing beneficial Ability to succeed in a fast-pace consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
