Energy Efficiency Docket Specialist (2 positions) - Job Numbers 824 & 825

Energetics is currently accepting applications for an Energy Efficiency Docket Specialist. This person would be based in our Columbia, Maryland office and work with the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:  Candidates should have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of work experience including task management / supervisory roles. An Associate’s degree is beneficial, but is not essential. Must be computer literate and possess experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), including an understanding of computer file structures and manipulation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The ideal candidate should possess facility with MS Word and Excel; task management, organizational, and interpersonal skills; an excellent work ethic; and a professional attitude. Most important are a very strong attention to detail, due diligence and a task management inclination and ability. This position may require occasional travel from Columbia, MD to Washington, DC, and will include the following:

§  Train and develop demonstrated competence in eGov ultimately leading to management responsibility for a broad appliance standards docket control project, including direct supervision of a small staff and client support.

§  Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.

§  Ensure conformity with the Government’s regulations concerning document standards and processes, practices and directives.

§  Provide outstanding Docket Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Government regulatory documents, including sensitive materials.

§  Create, review and verify electronic files and paper documents for consistency with background information. Convert Microsoft Excel and Word files into Adobe PDF, TIFF and OCR files.

§  Update and maintain weekly data-tracking system reports.

SKILLS / ABILITIES:

§  Strong attention to detail, quality control, and due diligence. 

§  Willingness to learn and train to become fully competent in established eGov processes.

§  Hands on management and supervisory experience.

§  Comfortable with IT software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated understanding and ability to create and work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

§  Ability to manage and work effectively utilizing strong interpersonal, communication and detail-oriented skills.

§  Adobe 7.0 read/write software experience to perform quality proofreading and editing.

§  Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and as a task leader.

§  Xerox SmartSend and Universal Docket Converter (UDC) experience, preferred, but not required.
