TESSCO is seeking a Electrical Engineer with commercial insight and a diverse background in various electronics disciplines.  Our Proprietary Products team is a dynamic, newly formed group positioned to expand our breadth of proprietary products throughout the company.  Our mission is grow our proprietary products portfolio and bring innovative, value-added solutions to our customers.  The electrical engineer will be our team’s technical expert to help validate and improve product designs and develop/improve processes. 

• Contribute to the development of our proprietary products portfolio and assist with the selection of products, vendors and their design. Collaborate with suppliers to test/validate existing product designs and development new products that meet customer needs.
• Maintain advanced understanding of relevant technology across all products supported by the TESSCO product offering. Technologies employed such as consumer power supplies (AC/DC), RF antennas for telecommunications applications,  Bluetooth and Wi-Fi systems.
• Seek areas for overall cost reduction opportunities as they pertain to product design
• Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Development, Packaging Engineering, Quality Management, Sourcing and Industrial Design to coordinate engineering activities and determine project objectives, costs and schedules. Participate in cross-functional teams to schedule and assign projects to appropriate personnel. Interface with the user(s) and sponsor(s) and all other stakeholders in order to determine their (evolving) needs.
• Improve engineering practices to include defined quality management procedures as they pertain to engineering responsibilities.
• Act as primary interface with third party test lab(s) for product validation and interface with industry associations (USB, Bluetooth, CTIA, UL/CE etc) to understand technical requirements.
• Create and maintain status reports as needed.
Required Skills

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).Demonstrated experience designing / developing electronic products and experience in selecting component vendors. Experience with manufacturing processes and product testing to include (hand and automated soldering, PCB layout techniques, injection molded components, normal environmental and accelerated aging test equipment and procedures, knowledge of electronics packaging techniques). Minimum 7 years experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred. Proven experience and training in structured Quality Management System are preferred. Experience with RF systems and components, international travel and language skills are preferred.
