SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Drafting and updating Affirmative Action Plans for sites in the mid to western United States and Alaska.

Annual site visits to mid to western United States and Alaska to audit record-keeping and safety programs. Conduct personnel related inquiries or investigations pertaining to EEO matters and employee relations concerns at the direction of the Senior Employment Practices Counsel.

 

Position is based in Anchorage but telecommute is possible.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Ensures that each site or business operation has been included in an Affirmative Action Plan.

· Annually updates each sites’ Affirmative Action Plan.

· Visits each site in region annually.  The site visit is to include:



a)  Affirmative Action Plan record-keeping audit.

b)  Check for proper federal, state and local postings.

c) Check regulatory safety compliance per OSHA and state law equivalents.

d)  Interview, where necessary, site employees for signs of discrimination, harassment, or other protected activity. 

· Train Human Resources contacts at all locations in proper Affirmative Action Plan record-keeping.

· Provide site union representatives with EEO letter, if applicable. 

· Assist Senior EEO Specialist in response to an EEO audit or survey.

 



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:



· Bachelor’s degree in Business Human Resources or related field.  Experience and/or other education may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

· At least three years of general Human Resources experience, including specific experience with EEO and Affirmative Action Plans.

· Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communications skills.

· Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

· Ability to travel—at least 40% of the job.

· Ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks.

· Be self-directed.

 

Preferred:

· Prior experience investigating EEO compliance matters.

· Professional certification (PHR or SPHR).
