SpaceCat Entertainment has multiple openings.Candidates will be evaluated by their ability and skill in specific needed areas, and their ability to multitask in other areas. We have need in the following job areas:

1) Effectively posting items for sale to eBay and Amazon.

2) Work accurately and rapidly in an internet shipping environment

3) Assistant Managing and running one of our retail storefronts

4) Ability to do various computer tasks, including building, upgrading and repairing computers,  and more

 

 

 

The successful candidates will have a mixture of skills that meet our criteria at our price points. There are several positions available, but boundaries overlap. EBay and Amazon Buyer seller/lister trainee/Manager

We have several positions open in this area.  This position involves first learning to list and sell items on Amazon and eBay.This requires a good grasp of written English, usually indicating an ability to pass an English 1b class in college. Also required is learning to price these items, which requires logic, an understanding of math basics, and sometimes ingenuity. Another level of this position at will allow you to use these skills to actually buy items from the public, which requires a solid desire to create profit for SpaceCat.

Ideally, a SpaceCateer fully versed in buying and selling would then also learn to be a store Assistant Manager or Manager. However, part time applicants have been successful in the position of Buyer/Lister.

This position also can grow into a Manager position overseeing On-Line sales.

 

Retail Store Trainee/Third Key/Assistant/Manager/General Manager:

Job responsibilities include full run of ALL brick and mortar activities EXCEPT accounting,bookkeeping, and scheduling. In particular, we need someone that can manage a single store by them self, while working with all team members toward a common goal.

Retail Store manager responsibilities include full responsibility from open to close. This position may also be filled by a ‘third key’ or ‘Assistant Manager’ profile. Specific duties are many and include selling, cashiering, merchandising, inventorying,clean up, interfacing with same store employees to achieve optimum performance,interfacing with other store employees to achieve product balance.  Detailed knowledge of specific products is not necessary to sell those products, but extensive product knowledge is a plus.Major product categories are Comic Books, Media (including CD’s, DVD’s, Vinyl,Video Games and Systems), Gaming Cards, Toys, and Sports Cards. Each of these product categories supplies an approximately equal percentage of total Company sales.  Product knowledge can be learned on the job, but a genuine interest in our specific products is required for your success. Previous experience working at a store specializing in one of our specialties is quite helpful but not necessary. This is a ‘hands on’ position requiring the work to be personally preformed, not simply supervised. Your managerial input will be vital to the stores success.

Basic computer knowledge required for your success: Ability to turn on and shut down a Windows computer successfully, as well as ability to log on to a system, manage your own personal company email account; open, process, close, save, find, and attach files to email is required.

 G.I. Joe or Star Wars action figure specialist

Must be able to quickly and accurately identify figures by name and be able to match up weapons and accessories.  This is a job that the ideal candidate will see as a fun way to make a few bucks. This is also a valuable skill (but certainly not necessary) for applicants to the eBay and Amazon Buyer seller/lister trainee/manager position.

 Shipping Trainee/Clerk/Manager

Ability to work with and be responsible for shipping items sold in the on-line sales Dept. is required. Must work quickly and extremely accurately. Buying postage online,packaging shipments and preparing for shipping are required. Knowledge of specialized shipping systems and using and installing specialized computer programs for shipping is desired. Desire to integrate your skills with those of the other team members is essential.Comic Book online Sales Specialist

This is a specialized eBay and Amazon Buyer seller/lister trainee/manager position.Additional responsibilities include grading and pricing of single comics and comic lots for sale on line.

 Computer Tech:

Must be able build and repair PC’s and/or Macs. Install software and make hardware changes.Previous job experience not required, but self taught knowledge is required.Also helpful, or will train right knowledgeable candidate if other requirements are met: iPod repair (battery replacement and more); PlayStation II, X-box repair (replace/swap optical drives, etc.)

 Handyman,shelf builder, woodworker

We need someone to do some easy handyman work. We want to build a number of shelving and display units. There is nothing difficult or technical involved here. This is a fun job that can be learned very quickly by the right individual. High-end carpentry skills are NOT required!

. Video Game and System Specialist

This is a specialized eBay and Amazon Buyer seller/lister trainee/manager position.Additional responsibilities include testing older and vintage video games for boot functionality in a rapid production environment, and testing and repair of older and vintage video game systems, including laser cleaning, interior dust removal, and replacement of commonly worn parts.

 Vinyl Record Manager:

Must be able to quickly and accurately grade and price the vast majority of record albums purchased from the public with no reference materials of any kind, as well as recognize items that require research to obtain the correct price. This job could be very flexible or very defined depending on the qualifications and needs of the candidate

 Administrative Assistant trainee

This position is a combination of computer work, problem solving and sweat. We use a variety of tools available from eBay, Amazon and other online sites to manage our on-line sales. We use Microsoft Excel to manage many inventory functions. Job responsibilities may include the tasks of maintaining the Gaming Calendar, ordering CostCo and Pepsi food items, ordering comic and card supplies from various vendors, and maintaining the Card inventory system. Also,dealing with multiple vendors to purchase toys that cross over to our other core area, managing a want list fulfillment system, managing back issue sales are areas we currently have need.

 Shipping Manager/ Project Engineer

This is a possible contract or temporary position. Ability to set up a completely modern shipping department specializing in Amazon and eBay sales is required.Knowledge of pros and cons of various commercial packages required. Ability to set-up associated hardware and software required.

 Photographer

We have a good set-up for taking photos of eBay listing items. Normally, our eBay and Amazon Buyer seller/lister trainee/managers do this job. But we can use an employee that takes great, accurate photos within our framework and does not work otherwise with the Buyer seller/lister process. Must accurately manage digital picture files following company framework.Important note:

Pornographic materials make up approximately 3% of our sales, and coming into contact with these materials tangentially cannot be avoided. No one is required to work with these materials directly. Therefore, if you have a problem with these materials, do not apply. Successful applicants must be 18 years of age.

Your skills in marketing, painting, store design, sign making and all skills needed to successfully run a retail shop will not go to waste.  Ability and desire to perform light maintenance is a big plus, but not required.

The most recent successful hires at SpaceCat have learned to mix retail sales while customers are buying, with administrative tasks, on-line product listings and shipping while sales are slow. The people hired for this position will be those with the best mix of talent and experience at the price point required to retain their services.
