PURPOSE Delivers office supplies to Corporate Express customer accounts meeting internal schedule and quality standards. Provide customer service by assisting with problem resolution and accepting product returns as required. Work is performed under the direction of department supervisor or manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES in order of importance. Other duties may be assigned.1. Organizes and loads product for delivery utilizing the manifest assuring the most efficient delivery route and schedule.2. Gathers appropriate paperwork for deliveries; i.e., invoices, COD paperwork, etc.3. Delivers and unloads product at customer facility using Proof-of-Delivery Scanner (electronic clipboard). Scans bar codes on boxes delivered; enters returns, overage/shortages and damaged products into scanner. After delivery is made, obtains customer signatures by having customer sign designated area on electronic clipboard. 4. Performs all functions in compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety rules.5. Accepts returns from customers, completing appropriate paperwork and returns product to warehouse. Places product in return area with appropriate documentation. Updates manifest with return reason codes.6. Addresses and resolves customer problems as appropriate. Informs supervisor of any issues that remain outstanding.7. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor.PRIMARY INTERACTIONS Daily interactions with customers for delivery of product. Warehouse and customer service personnel on a daily basis.COMPETENCIES · Good verbal and written communication skills · Demonstrates analytical and problem solving skills · Excellent customer service skills· Must be a team player · Data entry skillsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum of one (1) year delivery experience. Must have a valid driver?s license; be at least 21 years of age; can read and speak the English language sufficient to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records. Must be D.O.T. certified with a good driving record and physically qualified to drive by passing a DOT physical. Good knowledge of metro area. Prefer experience driving lightweight trucks. Prior experience with hand truck/dolly type equipment. On-the-job training for pallet jack and OSHA training for stand-up lift is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift, move, and/or carry up to a maximum of 66 pounds by hand. Employee will regularly drive a delivery truck and must be able to enter and exit the truck throughout the day. May use dolly type equipment to deliver product to customers. Must be able to enter and/or scan product and customer information into a hand-held scanner (electronic clipboard). WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Drives throughout assigned route in all kinds of weather and road conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
