Your Ingenuity is welcome!Responsible for creating detailed design, drafting and specifications of Adaptive HVAC jobs.   Under general supervision; responsible for the overall execution and performance of Adaptive HVAC assigned projects after internal release. Responsible for creating detailed design, drafting and specifications of assigned Adaptive HVAC jobs. For establishing and consistently following repetitive design, drafting, and standardized procedures/processes to achieve budgeted financial results.  Provides assistance with design, drafting and specifications on day to day activities of marketing, project coordinator, and production team leaders.May be required to assist with project estimating and acting as a technical resource for Sales on large projects.    PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Assists Engineering and Sales personnel in the design of projects and identification of key components in the adaptive package for bidding purposes. On secured jobs, translates the general design to a specific detailed design layout, including complete bills of material. Proposes innovative designs that can meet performance specifications and reliability requirements with the most cost effective approach. Works with vendors to develop new components that can improve the quality and cost effectiveness of packages. Responsible for standardized documentation, component selections, and Submittal generation. Responsible for modification and finalization of product designs for secured projects. This includes, but not limited to, the selection of mainly electrical, some mechanical and refrigeration components. Assists in material procurement, project component staging and OTD processes. Assist Production with requests for proposed ECO'S, project documentation, meeting minutes, and helps resolve project related issues. Oversees projects for compliance with specifications, National/International codes and good assembly techniques. Provides high quality written communications. Prepares detailed project schedules with MS Project to maintain and control contractual completion dates. Ensures project document controls are in compliance with Johnson Controls Adaptive HVAC Quality Manual. Assists in monitoring project progress and reporting to management project progress with reference to plan. Contact and work with vendors and other Johnson Controls entities. May be required to provide technical and/or engineering support to JCI team on-site. Visits engineer of record and other Johnson Controls entities on assigned projects as required.  Associates degree in drafting or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of drafting and design experience. Proficient in "Solid Works" drafting software as well as PC based programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite, electronic mail and the Internet.  Minimal travel (less than 10%) which is project driven.
