The Millard Group is a third-generation family business with a long history of leadership in commercial maintenance in the Chicago area and across the nation. Headquartered in Lincolnwood, IL, the Company provides integrated solutions through its full range of supervised janitorial, window cleaning, metal maintenance and specialty services to its clients in commercial real estate, retail malls, financial institutions, corporate facilities, universities, medical facilities and industrial warehouses.The Millard Group employs more than 4,600 people daily to over 1,000 clients in 32 states.

 

With dynamic market conditions and an assertive plan of action, the Company is in need of a proactive, results-oriented, highly effective and hands-on Director of Business Development to drive and support the constant change and expansion of the Company. This position requires high energy, assertiveness, good judgment, and the ability to be a good leader and role model for The Millard Group.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing new clients in the West Coast Markets. Key deliverables include identifying and pursuing leads, managing all aspects of the sales cycle, and presenting proposals to win new business. Specific responsibilities to include: Leverage contacts and build relationships with key decision-makers within the real estate/facilities management industry including Owners, General Managers, Property Managers, Asset Managers of multi-tenant buildings, and Corporate Real Estate Managers.

  Identify and pursue opportunities to maximize sales volume in all market segments for the company's products and services. Refine sales presentations and demonstrate excellent follow-up and customer commitment with all industry contacts.

 

  Become an active member of industry trade organizations to further develop relationships. Plan, direct, and execute participation in trade shows and industry conventions to increase company visibility and promote new sales.

 

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, energetic sales professional with at least three to five years of experience selling business services to corporations, property managers, and/or real estate executives. A Bachelors' degree in business is preferred; additional sales training is a plus. Experience with the development and maintenance of budgets and labor costs and monitoring financial information is required, as is a proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

 

This is a "hunter" position that requires strong relationship building skills and the courage to aggressively pursue all potential opportunities. The ability to earn trust, influence, and negotiate is critical. We seek an individual with intelligence, good business acumen and outstanding communications skills. This unique role is ideally suited to a self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability. Optimism, drive, tenacity and flexibility are all important characteristics.
