Database Analyst

Description:

The Database Analyst will primarily be involved in designing, creating, processing, and auditing data processing flows designed to populate and refresh I-Centrix hosted marketing databases.  In addition, you will be responsible for the design and execution of reporting and analysis projects to satisfy hosted database reporting needs.  You will interface with other I-Centrix personnel as well as clients to understand needs and analysis goals.  You will utilize 3rd part applications as well as proprietary software and applications.  In addition, the completion of other applications development and data related projects and activities are required as requested.

 

 

Responsibilities: Needs analysis and requirements gathering through interaction with external and internal resources. Data modeling and logical database design. Design, develop and implement process flows utilizing ETL applications and supporting software and tools. Extensive data auditing and data troubleshooting. Report creation, maintenance and execution utilize SQL, Excel, proprietary and third party reporting tools. Understanding and documentation of database schemas Ability to perform a variety of data exploration processes utilizing a variety of applications. Ability to conduct ad-hoc queries and analysis in a time sensitive manner, typically utilizing SQL. Perform other activities to support the Oracle database environment including data loads and refreshes.

 

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  College level coursework in computer science or related experience required. Strong SQL skills and knowledge required. Strong attention to detail is required Ability to problem solve proactively and independently is required Strong written and verbal communications skills required Understanding of relational database concepts required Familiarity with Microsoft Office and extensive knowledge of Excel preferred. Familiarity with data warehousing and associated concepts (OLAP, ETL, Dimensions, facts etc..) preferred. Experience with ETL tools preferred Experience with any Business Intelligence Tools (Brio, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports etc.) preferred Experience in direct marketing helpful.
