DIRECTOR, CUSTOMER FINANCIAL SERVICES

Under guidance of the CFO and in compliance with company policies and procedures, the Director, Customer Financial Services, is responsible for managing accounts receivable quality and credit risk exposure related to customer sales, application of customer remittances, collections and processing of customer credit memos. Reports to CFO Primary Responsibilities: ·  Develop long term and short term credit risk management strategy for retail and Pro customer channels in line with company’s strategic plan, budgeting process and risk exposures. ·  Maintain accounts receivable quality at or better than target levels. ·  Monitor customer accounts for delinquency and collection of past due balances. ·  Manage the review, analysis and interpretation of customer financial information to assess risk. ·  Establish customer credit risk classes consistent with company requirements. ·  Monitor customer account balances to ensure adherence to the established credit lines. ·  Visit customers as needed. ·  Develop effective relationships with customers and company field teams. ·  Approve changes to customer credit risk class, terms or credit limits. ·  Manage effective collection activity on all past due amounts. ·  Represent company on all bankruptcies and legal proceedings related to customer accounts. ·  Regularly prepare analyses and reports and communicates with senior management on outstanding issues with credit and collection. ·  Represent company in external professional organizations related to credit matters. ·  Manage application of customer payments and credits to their AR detail. ·  Manage processing of credits due customers on their accounts. ·  Coordinate credit programs and policies with Itochu International. ·  Assess products, services, technologies and systems that are available and appropriate for credit and collections departments.  

Job Requirements:


Education, Experience and Skills:

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, M.B.A. preferred

* Five to eight years of relevant experience, including extensive experience with retail and independent contractor customers.  Building products industry experience preferred.

* Demonstrated track record of effective collections programs in these two channels
