Customer Service Rep

Three (3) years of customer service/call center experience
Seasoned customer service interaction experience, including rapport establishment, product knowledge tools, research, problem solving, and solution implementation.
Verifiable PC proficiency, including word processing, web browser, and e-mail
Substantiated ten key calculator skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Professional comportment
High school diploma, or GED equivalency


Customer Service Position Duties

Provide price and availability on any standard part or item directly to customer. This is anything in Southware (in-house accounting system) or anything that can be obtained by part or model number from the electronic and hardcopy price lists or from the company's principals or suppliers.

Take and solicit orders from customers over phone.

Process orders (enter into Southware, place orders with suppliers or select to ship from our stock).

Expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers.

Follow-up on orders to assure critical deliveries.

Make and maintain manual order files and general customer files, alphabetical by calendar year.

Work out any order problems directly with customer related to delivery or paperwork issues. The salesperson needs to be informed of any problem.

Handle all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.

This position functions in concert with an outside sales force, to whom leads/opportunities should be funneled, communicates with our field service technicians who perform in-plant repair of customers equipment, and is part of a customer service team which includes a technical inside sales engineer.
