Position Description

The Controller – VP Financeis one of six top executives who lead the companyand reportto the Chairman and CEO who is actively involved in corporate strategy as wellas business development and corporate finance.  

 

The Controller VPFinance works with and supports Company executives to develop and analyze businessmodels and; to make realistic budgets and ambitious but achievable forecastsand plans.

 Timely, accurate andanalytical financial reporting is the key to management and company success.  It is a main responsibility of the Controller –VP Finance.   

 Of course, this positionis also responsible for all the financial functions including the generalledger, accounts payable and receivables and cash management.   

 Like all other Companyexecutives, the Controller-VP Finance is hands-on and loves it but is alsocapable of hiring, developing and leading a team committed to excellence

The Controllerhandles the company’s general accounting process to:   Supply internal reporting package to senior management including financial statements (external and internal), operational analysis, and recommendations for effectiveness / efficiency improvements; · Lead the Company’s annual and interim budgeting / planning process;

·Ensurethe general ledger is maintained and adjusted in accordance with GenerallyAccepted Accouting Principles (GAAP);

·Ensureall accounts are properly reconciled to assure the financial statements arerepresentative of the business;

·Lead thedevelopment, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures;

·Developand implement projects and programs to assist the accomplishment of approvedcompany goals;

·Completethe year-end audit and tax returns on a timely basis and with extreme accuracy;·Workwith the Company’s external technology partner to ensure the company’stechnology needs are met and/or exceeded.



Qualifications and Experience

·WorkExp: 7+ years of well rounded accountingand financial experience and preferably, in a high growth, young companyenvironment where budgeting, planning and reporting were top priorities andpersonally handled.  

·Attitude Must love a hands-on position ina lean, high-energy and rapidly changing environment.  Some people thrive.  Others are frightened.

·Aptitude  Excel power user and proficiency in MSOffice applications.

·Education: BA/BS in Accounting (CPA required, MBApreferred)

·Systems:  Experience with mid to high levelfinancial systems (ERP) required.

Compensation:
