Job Scope and Key Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining current sources and generating new sources of raw material (Non-Ferrous Metal) from the local market to supply plant requirements of non-ferrous scrap raw material at competitive costs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains good business contacts and favorable relations with current customers (non-ferrous dealers, peddlers and other suppliers) to assure meeting plant requirements for non-ferrous metal scrap. Gathers appropriate information about the local market for raw material concerning cost trends and availability of supply. Generates new sources of supplies of non-ferrous metal scrap. Arranges for the transportation of the non-ferrous scrap raw material to the plant at the most economical cost and to meet plant processing schedules. Assists in developing strategic plans for new business such as different sources of raw material. Interacts with the Operations Department concerning the grading by quality of non-ferrous scrap delivered to the plant. The employee may be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs. Requirements: High school diploma required; college degree in business or engineering desirable or equivalent business experience a plus. Up to 5 years experience in the non-ferrous scrap business or 10 years in a related field, preferably as a buyer, is desirable. Position requires good ?people? skills. Requires considerable contact with non-ferrous scrap dealers in person and by telephone to negotiate purchases of raw scrap and to assure timely deliveries. Extensive travel required in the VA area, requires a valid driver?s license.Apply Now!
