We are currently looking for the best talent available for a Business Intelligence Business Analyst and Project Leader with a proven track record in technology based solutions for an international corporation. This Position requires both strong technical and project management skills and is located at our office in New Britain, CT. This position will be accountable to help drive down Stanley Works total cost of ownership for Business Intelligence deliverables and coordinate and perform the alignment of the Global Data Warehouse with multiple Business Intelligence applications.
Experience in project management disciplines specializing in the Business Intelligence arena for the last 5 to 7 years are required for this position. Business knowledge, particularly with a business rules and processes depth of knowledge are also critically important, following knowledge of and respect for IT and data warehouse disciplines. Knowledge of execution of Business Intelligence disciplines is also critical to success in this role.
This position serves as a liaison between the business users and the Data warehouse Architecture team. This person works closely with the business owners to collect and analyze requirements of Business Intelligence reporting and profiles source systems data to identify data structures anomalies and data definitions inconsistencies. Then, this individual captures the business rules of the data and documents them in the data model and in a structured English format, as part of the business requirements deliverables. He or she defines the execution plan of the requirements and has full responsibility of documenting the project plan and assigning functional resources to the project. This is a hands-on position.
Major Responsibilities:
· Interviews the business users to determine business requirements for analysis reports, metadata, and training requirements
· Identifies and documents the return of Investment for each BI project.
· Responsible for documenting Service Level Agreements
· Performs Conceptual Data Model and Data Flows using CASE tools and makes sure that each data model adheres to Stanley Works Global Atomic Model
· Performs “casual” business requirements testing to validate business requirements and documents hard test cases for business users validation
· Coordinates and facilitates JAD sessions
· Responsible in the development of project deliverables including business requirements, project plans, and identify risks and the critical success factors of the individual projects consistent with project methodology to ensure on-time and on-budget implementations
· Demonstrate leadership and motivation throughout project lifecycle.
· Works with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications
· Identify and assess potential data sources
· Supports development of Enterprise Data Warehousing Model through analysis of Enterprise business drivers and their combined effects as captured in BI specifications
Qualifications/Skills:
· At least 5 to 7 years experience in the BI field utilizing BI analytical tools and understanding the data warehouse concepts and development processes
· Demonstrated ability for delivering full-life project management cycle for BI projects including the recommendation of appropriate scope of requirements
· Strong knowledge of conceptual data modeling, data flows, and data profiling
· Experience of documenting individual functional areas reporting needs as part of the total solution
· Ability to profile business users based on their business tasks and their associated BI reports types
· Excellent Communications skills and the ability to work under demanding business environment
· Strong experience in translating business requirements into data warehouse technical requirements
Education:
BS/MS in Engineering, IT or Computer Science fields preferred, business also acceptable
