Hortresearch USA is the American subsidiary of HortResearch, a New Zealand-based science company acknowledged as a world leader in integrated fruit research. Â The US entity plays a critical role in supporting products and commercializing technology that is being developed in the much larger New Zealand parent company.
Â
With Innovative fruit products already in the US market, and a number of emerging partnerships and commercialization activities, this newly created position will further build momentum in the company's US business development and the ongoing development of strategic research collaborations.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary degree in business, and at least five years experience in business development in a technology-driven industry. Â An affinity for science and the ability to interact with research professionals will be vital. Â Existing networks in the US agriculture, horticulture or biotechnology industries would be an advantage.
Â
Based in Davis CA, the position reports to our VP, Business Development and is for an initial period of one year. Â Extension beyond this will be linked to business growth. Â Candidates must be either US Citizens or legal US permanent residents. Â The ability to travel, both within the US, and to New Zealand, will also be essential.
