Business Analyst
The BA will work with the following functions: Accounts payable work flow, invoice creation, budget forecasting, variance analysis, labor corrections, cost funds status reporting, creating purchase requisitions, understanding ceiling rates, working with the government's accounting system and managing subcontractor costs. The candidate should be highly interested in having development and training as an integral part of their career growth. The environment is fast paced and dynamic.
Essential Job Functions
Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements/deadlines related to the administrative/financial/contractual aspects of projects;
Conducts the invoicing quality review. Reviews trends and implements process changes to eliminate issues; recommends changes to individual bills as appropriate.
Carry out the posting of invoices into the automated billing system ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Recommends additional automation, programming or changes to alleviate or eliminate issues.
Performs the reconciliation of unbilled receiveables on a scheduled basis. Responds to questions or inquiries and resolves as appropriate.
Reviews various reports such as aged receivables to identify unpaid invoices. Determines appropriate course of action to collect payments and implements same. Creates and develops reports based on needs; analyzes information for trends or issues and recommends and implements changes.
Acts as a liaison various stakeholders such as management and customers to respond to inquiries, facilitate work flow and resolve issues.
Preparing ad hoc analysis to include indirect cost pool reports and other corporate directed reports.
Recommends measures to improve processes and quality of service provided to the customer. Provides guidance for the timely and accurate delivery of the unit's assignments
Requirements:
Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles
Experience working with contracts including government contracts and customer invoicing
Experience working with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and it's requirements
. US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required and must be clearable for position of Public Trust.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree; Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
Four or more years of accounting or finance experience, experience in government contracting environment preferred
