Nilfisk-Advance, Inc., the worlds premiere manufacturer of professional floor cleaning equipment has an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to join our team of dedicated professionals.

 

Individual is responsible for managing the external supply base for assigned commodities to achieve the company’s business objectives.  Responsible for executing sourcing projects and other strategic and tactical activities as assigned.

 

• Prepares requests for proposals, solicits quotations, evaluates bids, negotiates prices, and negotiates terms with suppliers in support of company objectives

• Selects qualified suppliers that meet company objectives with cross functional input; evaluates past performance record regarding price, quality, and delivery of known sources against purchasing requirements; and supports supplier report card development as required

• Utilizes ERP to ensure material availability in support of the production schedule; places initial purchase orders from approved requisitions and expedites/defers to ensure product availability per the inventory plan

• Sets and maintains purchasing and planning ERP order parameters

• Assists in supplier management including risk management, commodity strategy, inventory management, problem resolution, and evaluation of supplier performance

• Executes strategies and tactics to achieve lowest total cost of ownership regarding pricing, logistics, inventory and payment terms

• Supports continuous improvement of procurement processes

 

We require an individual who can plan, organize and manage multiple projects with a minimum of 5 years of related business experience in a manufacturing environment, of which at least 3 years is Purchasing or Planning.  Requirements also include a BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field; ability to manage internal and external supplier relationships; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to analyze problems and develop improvement plans; proficiency in MS software and ERP systems.  This position does require some travel, which may include international travel.
