Assistant Manager, Dept. of Environmental Services

Mercy Hospital is growing. As a result, we have an Assistant Manager position open for our Environmental Services department.

Job Summary:

- Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Director, the Assistant Manager EVS Operations provides direct leadership and guidance to staff across multiple sites, as assigned, to ensure that a high-level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained.



- Assists with JCAHO compliance.



- Assists staff with daily duties as required.



- In the absence of the Environmental Services Director, the Assistant Manager EVS Operations assumes responsibilities of that position.



- The Assistant Manager EVS Operations performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job.



- The Assistant Manager EVS Operations is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position.



- In addition, the Assistant Manager EVS Operations conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.



Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in business or the Hospitality Industry is preferred.



- Five (5) years supervisory experience in housekeeping operations or similar service-related field with high customer/client contact required.



- Demonstrated proficiency in institutional cleaning and supervisory skills.



- Valid driver's license is required.



- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required: Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentation.



- Good interpersonal skills as the incumbent deals with all levels of staff, employees, the public and patients. 



- Ability to multi-tasks and establish priorities.



- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. 



- Must have analytical and problem solving skills to ensure timely and cost effective work completion.



- Must be highly accountable as the Assistant Managers work and judgment directly impacts staff performance and indirectly affects patient care.





This is a full time position working Monday-Friday, days for the Fore River & Westbrook Campuses.
