The Role
The Ritchie Bros. Las Vegas, Nevada sale site has an immediate opening for an Acting Yard Manager. The Acting Yard Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the yard including team management, vendor and sub-contractor procurement and management, as well as the general organization of the yard to ensure the smooth operation of the Las Vegas location.
The Requirements
We’re looking for a hands-on acting manager who is capable of effectively juggling many things at once! In this role you’ll be supervising full- and part-time yard staff, you’ll be the go-to person for the sales staff, vendors and on-site sub-contractors and for essentially everything to do with the organization of the yard and the auction sales.
Our ideal candidate will have:
· Minimum of 3 years experience managing or supervising multi-disciplinary teams.
· Experience with or knowledge of industrial equipment, trucks and trailers.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Good computer skills.
· Understanding of local environmental regulations would be an asset.
· Top-notch communication skills both written and verbal.
· Good leadership and coaching skills.
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
· A good fitness level - this is an active job.
· A proven track record of working safely and contributing to a safe workplace.
· A valid driver’s license.
· A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job!
This role will require you to:
· Travel to different sale sites in the first 6 mos. for up to 3 weeks at a time for training.
· Travel regularly to other Ritchie Bros. sale sites across the sales division.
· Work extra hours in the weeks surrounding each sale.
· Operate a variety of heavy equipment and trucks.
· Work outside for the vast majority of the day, sometimes in extreme heat.
