Travel Channel - Technical Product Manager New York City, NY Description:Travel Channel Technical Product ManagerWe are currently seeking a Product Manager to join our Technical Implementation team in New York, NY office. This individual will act as a point person for our web-site projects and be responsible for understanding business needs and translating them into concepts and specifications. This individual will be responsible for working with our various business units to develop and create business requirements, site maps, transaction flows, and navigation models for all web site properties. This position has inherent growth potential in our development business. Applicant must be pro-active, collaborative, driven and have strong communication skills. Responsibilities:1. Act as a liaison between travelchannel.com content, design and IT teams. Communicate business requirements and priorities while representing Travel Channels best interests in the discussion.2. Conducts business requirements reviews and formulates logical statements of business requirements; gather business requirements and develop business cases.3. Develops functional designs; identifies risks and benefits of alternate designs; calculates costs/benefits of potential actions or solutions to establish their viability/ROI; assesses project impact of system changes on users and internal and external customers and stakeholders;4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current user experience/website industry standards and best practices.5. Monitor and analyze products and services, market trends, and customer requirements. May manage software. Provide training, as needed and applicable.6. Actively make recommendations on improving the prospect and current customer's online experiences based upon feedback and guidance from research, usability studies and industry best practices. 7. Ability to use web analytics to inform design direction. Analyze related web metrics once implementation is complete (traffic, visibility, outreach, effectiveness) and handle ongoing maintenance.8. Analyzes marketplace, industry, company, technology trends, and best practices, vendor products, and services, etc.;9. Uses system process analysis tools and methods to analyze and document business processes and metrics and identify improvement opportunities to streamline and automate processes and functions; identifies/documents how applications/systems interact to support business processes;10. Develops selection evaluation criteria based on identified product requirements for tasks and processes and/or prepares specifications from which programs will be written;11. Negotiates commitments by facilitating the communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation;12. Participate in software testing and debugging plans to ensure functionality and quality; creates detailed test plans and scripts based on functional requirements and executes test scripts using testing tools;13. Writes user documentation based on functional requirements;14.
