Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Media and Technology Services, schedules and supervises full-time technicians; hires, trains, schedules, and supervises part-time technicians and student employees; Uses a Filemaker database for scheduling and maintaining a library of past jobs. Directly supervises daily technical operations and equipment loan operation; instructs faculty, staff, and student users in the operation of classroom multimedia equipment; assists manager with technical projects; and makes recommendations for equipment purchases. In a highly skilled manner sets up, operates, and supervises the use and care of instructional media equipment including data/video projection systems, PCs, audio recording and sound reinforcement systems, digital and film projectors, video recording systems, Crestron and Extron control systems, e-control, matrix and routing switchers, ISDN & IP teleconferencing including scaling of computer and video images, and related instruments. Assists instructors in the use of classroom PC and Mac computers including network connections, presentation software support such as PowerPoint, application troubleshooting, and distance learning support.

 

Basic Qualifications

Two or more years of college education; two years experience supervising staff; and three years full-time work experience in a media related position.

 

Additional Qualifications

College background in related media and/or technology preferred, 3+ years experience with instructional media and supervising staff; ability to manage multiple tasks under deadline pressure; ability to work with a range of constituents and develop solutions to service problems in a client-friendly manner; and knowledge of a range of computer software and operating systems required.
