Stock Film and Media Researcher

The WPA Film Library, a subsidiary of the MPI Media Group, is a leading supplier of stock footage to the entertainment and broadcast media community, including makers of documentaries, theatrical films, advertisements, educational programs, and others.

 

Stock Footage Researcher Position:

 

The WPA Film Library seeks footage researcher to perform database research and compile videos/DVDs for clients in media production. Requires bachelor's degree, computer fluency, knowledge of 20th century history, attention to detail, and good communication skills. Entry-level position with benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

 

. Researching client requests using in-house database (using other sources to learn about the topics themselves, when necessary)

 

. Compiling videotape & DVD screeners for clients

 

. Cataloging film and video footage

 

. Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues

 

. Working on other tasks which might selecting content to showcase on website or in marketing materials

 

Required qualifications:

 

. Bachelor's degree

 

. Analytical and creative thinking

 

. Attention to detail

 

. Comfort using computers, including work with search engines and/or databases

 

. Good communication skills and fluency in the English language

 

Desired qualifications:

 

. Background in media, history or library science

 

. Technical writing experience

 

. Intellectual curiosity/love of learning

 

. Strong knowledge of 20th century history, pop culture or world cultures
