Senior Production Flash Developer
Advanced Flash Programming (AS2.0 / AS 3.0 - Class based / Object Oriented development)
Summary: Lucasfilm is seeking a top notch, results oriented senior production and flash developer to participate in all programming and design projects within the Lucas Online team.Major responsibilities: Will be responsible for the successful implementation of graphical user interfaces for project web sites. This role will require excellent practical skills in web development technologies as well as a good understanding of web site user interface design principles and practices. Transform designer's art into code for all Lucas Online properties (StarWars.com, LucasArts.com, IndianaJones.com, and more...) Scripting of Flash Interfaces and Applications in AS 2.0 and 3.0 Maintain and support additions, changes and revisions on a timely basis. Implement and produce web content including text, image, audio and video clips as necessary. Liaison with content and production team to ensure high quality site deliverables. Provide technical and functional web expertise to the team. Work with other web team members to develop project plans, content strategies, and technology assessments. Develop and maintain an expertise in browser-specific and platform-specific design and functionality issues, and apply accumulated knowledge in design of web assets and in consultation with other web project team members. Assist Lucas Online division with other web sites and initiatives as required. These may include www.starwars.com; www.indianajones.com; and www.lucasfilm.com
Qualifications: 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in a senior internet production developer role. Advanced Flash Programming (AS2.0 / AS 3.0 - Class based / Object Oriented development) A thorough understanding of multi-tiered web applications and data integration - Flash Remoting, Web Services, XML, etc. Familiar with video integration and progressive and streaming techniques Experience with scripted animation techniques Strong animation and creative skills Investigate and utilize emerging multi-media technologies (Flex, AIR, Silverlight) Experience building major flash sites, games, and/or other related projects. Portfolio examples are required for consideration. Technical mastery of client side web user interface development technologies across multiple browsers and platforms; including HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, ActionScript, AJAX, and Java Server Pages (JSP). Ability to hand-code a must. A proactive, quality orientated approach to development. A love of clean and if possible reusable code. Experience with Freemarker, Tea, or similar templating systems. Working knowledge of UNIX/DOS. Advanced production skills utilizing Macromedia Flash, and Adobe Photoshop required. Previous work using source control systems i.e.: PVCS or Perforce required. Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail and quality practices. Strong project management skills and sensitivity to time and deadline driven workflow. Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills. Collaborative, team oriented work style. Curious about new technologies and eager to keep abreast of the ones they already know. Independent, able to work with little or no supervision on special projects as required. Must be able to handle a variety of multiple changing priorities in a dynamic environment. Self-starter capable of contributing to the team immediately. Interest in and knowledge of video game industry. Knowledge of Star Wars a plus.
