Senior Analyst, Planning & Analysis - Theatrical
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Senior Analyst, Planning & Analysis – Theatrical for the Finance Reporting & Budgeting department. Position is responsible for the collection of budgeted/forecast revenue and expense items that are required for computing film costs as well as for plan reporting purposes. Reviews budgeted/forecast revenue and expense amounts and obtains explanations for variances from prior plan (primarily Theatrical divisions). Reviews the recording of budgeted/forecast film cost calculated by title. Assists in the analysis of consolidated Theatrical results (that include Film Cost amounts computed by FRB) compared to prior plan periods as well as prior year. Prepares the by-title divisional and consolidated reports (Gross Profits). Prepares analytical analysis to be communicated to department management and prepares responses inquiries of Senior Management and Time Warner. Assists in determines appropriateness of budget/forecast procedures and is responsible for recommending and implementing improvements. Assists in the review and consolidation of Time Warner Long Term Plan. Gathers divisional metrics information on a monthly and quarterly basis. Assists in the preparation of Time Warner key metrics data. Responsible for proper accumulation of actual revenue and expense items that are required for computing film costs as well as for reporting purposes including reconciliation to consolidation system. Prepares analysis of actual revenue and expense amounts and obtains explanations for variances from plan on a divisional basis (primarily Theatrical divisions). Reviews the recording of actual film cost calculated by title. Assists in the preparation of the analysis of consolidated Theatrical results that include Film Cost amounts computed by FRB compared to plan periods as well as prior year. Prepares by-title divisional and consolidated reports (Gross Profits). Assists in creating and communicating procedures to be followed by distribution divisions as well as departmental staff. Ensures appropriate analytical analysis is completed and communicated to department management and prepares responses to inquiries of Senior Management and Time Warner. Determines appropriateness of accounting policy and procedures and is responsible for recommending and implementing improvements. Responsible for updating new by-title attributes in SAP for made for Theatrical product, and prepares the corresponding SOX documentation for signoff and approval. Updates any changes to by-title Theatrical product attributes in SAP as requested. Responsible for updating new by-title attributes in SAP for New Line product, and prepares the corresponding SOX documentation for signoff and approval. Updates any changes to by-title New Line product attributes in SAP as requested. Coordinates with various divisions to ensure successful maintenance of by-title attributes. Assists in the maintenance of documented departmental procedures. Responsible for various system administration activities. Ensures compliance with SOX documentation requirements. Utilize Excel skills to model evolving analytical requirements. Provides assistance throughout FRB department as necessary due to turnover or special demands. Handles other special projects as required.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Economics or related field required. CPA preferred. Approximately 3-5 years experience in an accounting/budgeting or related environment required. Approximately 2-4 years experience in Public Accounting experience. Previous experience in the entertainment industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements. Must have effective writing and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and logic skills as well as attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel required; familiarity with developing & utilizing macros in Excel required. SAP BW/BPS experience extremely helpful.
