Project Manager for Video Product Development
CITY: New York STATE: New YorkCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):The Project Management Lead for Video Product Development is a key member of NBC Universal's Interactive Media Product Development Team within the Technology Growth Center. In this position, the Project Manager is extensively involved in the evolution of the company's Video Products, which includes online video, both streaming and download, Electronic-Sell-Through and Download-to-Own media platforms, including the NBC Direct consumer video download offering, as well as User Generated Video and working with the Mobile team as it relates to mobile video. This person will be responsible for creating and managing video projects, related, ensuring coordination of extended team (design, technology, QA, legal, sourcing and 3rd parties) and oversight of project deliverables, tasks and related action plans. This position is invested in product and project success and executing on the overall product vision, established by the video product team leadership. This person will coordinate project efforts which include DRM/encryption, video publishing, online video software development, related quality assurance, customer support, design and others aspects. Additionally, the Project Management Lead is to drive "best practices" by implementing standard, repeatable, reliable development lifecycle and project management practices to achieve efficiencies and meet launch deadlines -- including coordination between groups in a matrix organization, to ensure project requirement & business priorities/expectations have been properly set.In addition to project management responsibilities, the Project Management Lead will have the opportunity to guide and cultivate individual products, including the strategic direction of these video products. This person reports to the Director of Video Product Development, within the Interactive Media Products team.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degreeA minimum of five years experience with project management responsibilities within the software development and Media Technology space (including creation and management of project plans, and usage of project management tools, such as MS Project, Rally and/or Basecamp)A minimum of three years of experience with online video projects, digital video encoding and compression software, digital rights management administration and network distribution including peer-to-peer deliveryEligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered (note job#: 842366).
