Product Applications Engineer – Broadcast Video, Image Data

da Vinci Systems ( http://www.davsys.com/) is looking for an individual to act as a key technical consultant and customer support engineer for North America Eastern US region sales activities. Must be personable and customer oriented with technical knowledge in broadcast video, film based image data and SAN storage systems. Extensive regional travel and working without daily supervision is a core requirement.  The position is preferably East Coast based, however consideration will be given for the right candidate if they have residency in another other parts of the US.



 

Typical work activities include:

Developing and maintaining relationships with customers; responding to customer phone calls, emails and facility visits; evaluating and resolving problems; liaising with and working alongside facility operators and engineers; offering customer training in post production workflow, operations, system configuration and maintenance engineering; troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems; providing customers with regular reports and feedback on their service requests; offering feedback on future product development, features and functions; preparation and support for sales, demonstration and trade show activities and other functions as identified by the regional sales manager.

 

Required Qualifications Minimum 7 -10 years experience in video or image data management and field supportPreferred BSEE degree or equivalent experienceExcellent communications, oral and writtenProficient in Microsoft office softwareExtensive Linux operating system knowledgeExtensive post production workflow knowledgeExtensive file system and networking installation, configuration and operation knowledgePreferred film scanner and/or telecine experience
