Master Control Operator
Broadcast Facilities, Inc. is a state-of-the-art High Definition media facility, fully equipped to go from live production to on-air distribution all from within the same building. It’s a full HD/SD production facility that provides 24/7 network origination/playback/satellite up linking. Our client list includes ABC, Universal Sports Network, MGM Movie Channel, SiTV and Hallmark Channel to name a few.
We are currently looking for talented and energetic Master Control Operators to join our Los Angeles based facility. Qualifications and job responsibilities are as follows:
Under the direction of the Master Control Supervisor, this position will be responsible for maintaining video and audio functions of Master Control and insuring the integrity of the network origination of up to twenty-four digital channels 24x7.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with the operating functionality of various types of broadcast equipment. He/she will be required to maintain discrepancy reports and troubleshoot technical issues in Master Control, as well as have the ability and composure to perform in an emergency on-air outage situation. In addition, the ability to handle multiple responsibilities is a plus.
Perform all playback and monitoring functions for the origination of multiple 24x7 server based satellite broadcast channels Review, edit, monitor and confirm the on-going reliability of the automation play-list Maintain all appropriate “on air” logs and discrepancy reports
The candidate should have at least two years experience in a multi-channel broadcast facility. He/she should be detail oriented, capable of working under pressure and capable of performing and tracking multiple tasks during each shift. He/she must have a flexible attitude and be capable of taking direction from the Supervisor, Master Control. He/she must also be able to work flexible hours.
The candidate should have knowledge of the following areas: Broadcast automation systems; Fiber/satellite operations; NTSC and PAL video/audio standards; Video servers (e.g. Pinnacle, Omneon); Various router functions
