CITY: Englewood Cliffs STATE: New JerseyCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):Lead a team of technicians, plays a proactive role in identifying, developing & applying "Best in Class" approaches/practices to Data Center Management Accountable for the performance of the data center, vendor management on a location basis, & ensuring quality is delivered uniformly across all data centersMaintain the core Data Center infrastructure & ensures that resiliency mechanisms are in place to meet business continuance requirements Monitor, document & report on overall data center performance. Examples include a) trending and capacity information on all core components (power/cooling, space); b) cable installation/removal, c) physical server & storage device locations, d) labeling of all components, aisles, & infrastructureWork with Facilities to ensure data center mechanical/electrical/structural infrastructure provides appropriate support of data centersEnsure data centers operate in compliance with standards & regulatory requirements including SOX, Security, HR, ethics, data protection Perform & maintain data center physical controls such as access management - supporting, reviewing & reconciling logs of personnel with data center access. Ensure adherence & compliance with strict reporting on violations and exceptions, & document evidence of data center security controls Order inventory/spares required for continuous operation of data center equipmentDefine, schedule & monitor multiple technical projects, developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans/schedules; provide senior management with accurate & complete status informationParticipate in the triage and resolution of all problem incidentsOversee and create/close tickets for building activities such as electrical installs, UPS functions, new equipment installation and/or de-installation of old equipment Support and assist in coordination of activities such as Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Audits Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum of 7 years of experience in data center operations & management, including a) installation & monitoring of rack-mounted 208/120V single and three-phase Power Distribution Units (PDUs), b) installation of infrastructure wiring (copper & fiber), c) knowledge of HVAC systems and their relationship/requirements to effective and efficient data center cooling.Minimum of 5 years experience leading a team of professionalsEligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered (note job#: 840529). Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.Must be 18 years or older.Desired:B.S. degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or other technical disciplineExcellent working knowledge of data center infrastructure (i.e. - static battery UPS and continuous power supplies, chilled water and DX refrigerant cooling systems, racking/stacking servers, SANs devices, network routers & switches, fire suppression systems) as well as industry tools used in data center operations Strong leader with experience in supporting and maintaining complex electrical, mechanical and cooling systems in a highly diverse data center environment. Candidate should be able to read, interpret and comment on data center blue prints and schematics offering suggestions on how to improve the overall operation and efficiencyExcel in a fast paced environment with a high volume of unusual situations and requests.
