Licensing Coordinator - Domestic Licensing

JOB TITLE:  Licensing Coordinator

REPORTING TO:  Executive Director and Manager, Domestic Licensing

DEPARTMENT:  Licensing, United Media, New York City

 

DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:

Sales Duties

· Handle day to day activities for selected categories. Interact daily with supervisor to formulate licensing strategies, set directives and priorities.

· Identify, foster and develop new relationships with companies in assigned categories. Must become well versed in assigned category product life cycle, current licensees and other key category players.

· Research category regularly to stay up to date on current innovations, trends and competitive initiatives. Relay and present findings internally to peers and supervisors.

· Interface with multiple departments to facilitate licensees’ business requests and creative needs

· Become primary liaison for licensees’’ creative, business, legal and financial needs. Keep supervisor informed on all issues that arise, Help expedite internal processing of licensees’ request to meet our brand goals and maximize each licensees’ business potential.

· Handle product approvals process for each property at prototype and final samples stages including the use of necessary forms.

· Issue requests for financial  information as directed by supervisor and track email correspondence to licensees with regards to quarterly budget forecasts needs

· Attend sales meetings and liaise with licensees as directed by supervisor; assist in meeting preparation, follow up and all necessary sales support

· Write and present licensing presentations with supervisor’s guidance on all United Media brands. Develop a strong working knowledge of all brands in the United Media portfolio.

 

General Duties

· General administrative duties (i.e., telephone, faxing, filing, mailings).

· Coordinate meetings and weekly conference calls; take notes and disseminate.

· Maintain schedules, time sheets, monthly expense reports, contact database

· Arrange travel itineraries

· Maintain daily communication with clients and licensees (“first line of defense” on approval issues, artwork questions, general troubleshooting, both internally and externally)

· Coordinate and interface with art dept., retail dept., and others on special projects, retail presentations, etc.

· Work with other coordinators to share duties on an as-needed basis

· Traffic and track deal sheets and contracts (pending through fully-executed)

· Staff Licensing Show booth; attend trade shows and meetings as needed.

· Research projects, as necessary

· Reception relief

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

· 2 - 4 years of work experience (at least two years office experience)

· Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint

· Must be able to work with clients and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to handle multiple diverse tasks on deadline

· Must have strong follow up and organizational and time management skills

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

· College degree preferred
