Event Specialist - San Diego

RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION OBJECTIVE

To manage, direct and help develop the Planet Wisdom Student Tour. Oversee the creation of Elective Seminars and Critical Concern Courses for the National Youth Workers Convention. To be part of the creative team in developing theme, content, visual design and program elements for the National Youth Workers Convention and other YS events. To take on other event tasks as needed for DCLA and YSoneday.

POSITION TASK 

Planet Wisdom Tour Director:  Venue Communication, Facility Set Up, Budget Management, Production Contracting & Management, Talent Coordination/Communication, Facilitating Youth Leader Meetings, Development Team Management including coordination of all program pieces, Creative input on program, content, event look and feel. Management of onsite team. Oversight of the event in each location. Interact with YS Events and Marketing teams to achieve success of the events.  Travel to all events required.

National Youth Workers Convention:  Developing a cross section of Elective Seminar and critical Concern Course topics and speakers. Work with artist, artist management & record labels in procuring talent. Work with creative team to develop theme, content, program segments, visual and staging support for the general sessions. Interact with YS Events and Marketing team as needed. Travel to all conventions required. Creative, organizational, relational and programming skills needed.

DCLA Student Event:  Provide logistical, creative and program support where needed. Specific assignments TBD

Other YS Events   Assist where needed

 

KNOWLEDGE:   

¨  Undergraduate degree     

¨  7-10 years of experience      

¨  Marketing, advertising or public relations background   

¨  Youth ministry experience a plus
