SUMMARY: Record official NEC events and student recitals in all NEC performance spaces. Set up and operation of sound reinforcement systems for official NEC events, student recitals and outside renters in all performance spaces.. Assist with the running of the AVS front office. Run recording/mixing/editing sessions. Train student workers for recording, sound reinforcement, and front office duties. Install, test and/or provide security of Audio/Visual equipment throughout the Conservatory as needed. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Audio Engineering plus 3 – 5 years experience. A thorough understanding of sound reinforcement and recording techniques is necessary. Familiarity with the full array of sound reinforcement and recording equipment including, but not limited to, speakers, consoles, sound processing devices, microphones, amplifiers, DBX Driverack system. Proficiency with Wavelab and Nuendo digital editing software. Ability to lift, move and set-up audio equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Willingness to participate in other departmental projects. Ability to balance and prioritize a variety of projects is essential. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. Outstanding interpersonal skills and flexibility that allow for quality relations with a variety of constituencies. Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends essential.
