Director, Planning & Analysis

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Director, Planning & Analysis for the Finance Reporting & Budgeting department. Position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the consolidated profit and loss for Theatrical products/divisions for planning cycles (Budget, Forecast, Long Term Plan) and monthly close. Works with Senior Management to create and implement FRB procedures. Determines calendar and reporting requirements for each division reporting to FRB for the planning and financial close cycles. Determines procedures to be followed within FRB in the performance of the consolidation of the financial plan and monthly close. Ensures that film costs are computed accurately for actual and plan periods. Presents results of consolidated profit and loss plans to Senior Management. Communicates the analytical findings to department management. Directs staff in completion of the analysis and reporting of various divisional and consolidated results during the planning cycles and financial close process. Responsible for preparation of consolidated Theatrical financial analysis of variances from the current plan to the prior plan as well as from actual to plan and prior year amounts. Directs the department and investigates any material discrepancies, working with personnel within FRB as well as other Warner Bros. accounting departments to obtain appropriate explanations. Manages iterative updates to the current plan (Mid Quarter Updates) on a monthly basis. Presents analysis to Senior Management and Time Warner. Responds to queries of Senior Management and Time Warner related to the above. Supports the Time Warner Weekly/Monthly Metric reporting process as needed. Supervises a staff of three and provides coaching, development and supervision. Responsible for the continual improvement of departmental procedures to create time savings (alleviate overtime demands). Designs analytical reports from the consolidation and by-title systems to be used as management tools. Incorporates current and future technology to redesign planning processes as required by Senior Management. Provides assistance throughout FRB department as necessary due to turnover or special demands. Handles other special projects as required.

Requirements
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Economics or related field required, advanced degree preferred. CPA preferred. Minimum 10 years experience in an accounting/budgeting or related environment required. Previous experience in public accounting and/or the entertainment industry strongly preferred. Supervisor experience required. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements. Must have effective writing and verbal communication skills; required to communicate effectively with all levels of Warner Bros. and Time Warner personnel. Strong analytical and logic skills including ability to grasp the “big picture.” Must have strong supervisory and personnel development skills; including ability to effectively mentor staff. Advanced proficiency in Excel required; familiarity with developing & utilizing macros in Excel required. SAP BW/BPS experience extremely helpful. Must be able to maintain confidential information.
