Director, Digital Media Delivery

CITY: New York STATE: New YorkCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):Build support plan for IT specific technologies to include desktop software, PC hardware, internet connectivity, custom application support, remote access requirements, terminal server, file transfer, file serving & storage, streaming, new software & hardware procurement &/or development, network protocols, security, & firewall rules, & information security.Map deployment & support processes to field operation requirements using Six Sigma tools & methods; digitizing & automating video workflows & digital asset management Turn process maps into use cases & write standard operating procedures in order to create repeatable & reproducible solutionsLead efforts to fulfill deployment project objectives drawing technical & support resources from across IT Manage/plan Custom SW development projects relating to & supporting digital media workflows. Facilitate the digital transfer requirements of NBCU business groups to meet specific needsDirect & control the activities of the ongoing technical development of streaming media & rich media content. Establish technical guidelines for online media production for all of the organization's product lines or channels.Lead in enabling company-wide use of enterprise tools to ingest & deliver media to internal & external sites, customizing XML & metadata & improving workflow efficiency. Directs managers & staff in determining & implementing technical solutions for products. Directs & controls the technology & infrastructure function for all of the digital media delivery across the company Accountable for developing & implementing technology & infrastructure plans, marketing & selling those plans internally & externally to meet the organization's requirements. Works with top technology executive to assure that investments in technology infrastructure are appropriate to developments in the industry & represent a fair return to the organization.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degreeMinimum 8 years experience managing complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary projectsMinimum 5 years in an ops capacityMinimum 5 years in a management capacityMinimum 3 years experience with Java Application ServersMinimum 3 years experience with digital media concepts: encoding, transcoding, streaming, rights management, watermarking, media formats, media transfer technologies, etc.Minimum 3 years experience managing software as a service hosting infrastructuresEligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered (note job#: 845949).
