Broadcast Systems Engineer
Outdoor Channel is seeking a Broadcast Systems Engineer for our Engineering department at our Temecula, CA Broadcast Center. The Broadcast Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration, testing and maintenance of all broadcast systems, facilities support systems, expansions and upgrades.
Responsibilities:
· Manage technical resources/vendors to address hardware or software issues whenever necessary and drive toward resolution.
· Provide direct support during and after service outages and coordinate repair work where needed for a timely resolution of problems.
· Project Management tasks include managing vendors, design reviews, integration and test as well as project schedules / budgets. Assist in review, design and maintenance of accurate system drawings, operating procedures and other technical documentation.
· Will directly interface with general contractors, electricians, HVAC / plumbing contractors, facilities support vendors and others.
Requirements
· College degree in related field or relevant experience.
· Minimum 5 years experience in broadcast engineering with ideal candidate possessing good knowledge of systems ranging from Apple X-SAN Raid, Edit Bay equipment, Station Automation Systems, File and Play out Servers, Switching Systems, Routers, MPEG Video Compression Systems with Conditional Access, Satellite Uplinks and return monitoring.
· Experience in facilities infrastructure maintenance is a plus (HVAC, main and emergency power, telecommunications, etc.)
· Strong written and oral communication. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules.
· Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings and documents. Develop and execute test plans and procedures.
· Strong multi-tasking skills. Must be able to work independently and with teams and require minimal supervision.
· Proficient with Windows and MAC operating systems, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio), AutoCAD.
· Attention to detail and strong follow-up are a must.
· FCC, SBE or SMPTE certifications are a plus.
