Associate Editor

AEGIS Communications, one of the country’s premier healthcare publishing companies, is looking for a talented Associate Editor to join a team of dedicated and creative individuals. You will be a key participant in the development of print media and various multimedia vehicles developed for oral healthcare professionals.

 

You will be responsible for editing, proofreading, fact checking, verifying clinical content, and ensuring adherence to AMA and AEGIS-specified styles.

 

Requisite talents and skills include the ability to understand clinical dentistry, good organizational skills, logical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.

 

Responsibilities will include the following:

 

• Edit documents for proper grammar, clinical accuracy, AMA style, and AEGIS-specified style

• Verify references from Medline or other journal databases

• Interact with other editorial staff members to see the manuscripts through to production

• Occasional writing of non-clinical pieces, such as reports from conferences, news items, etc.

 

Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree

• 1-3 years editorial experience with clinical material (dental experience preferred but not required; CME experience preferred but not required).

• Must have a familiarity with AMA style for referencing purposes

• Must be comfortable with medical/dental terminology and medical/dental literature

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet fast-paced deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Desire to grow with a dedicated and talented team.

 

This is a full-time, on-site position.
